Questions to answer before buying

Choose the service

What does the Optimization Suite add to AI Connect?

Public answer: AI Connect lets your team query Amazon Ads and Seller/Vendor Central data through its own AI tools or MAP’s chat. The Suite adds dashboards, notifications, guided experiments and daily recommendations. Choose by who should do the analysis: your team using its own AI, or MAP supplying ongoing recommendations. A fully managed account service is a separate purchase.

Campaign changes

Can AI Connect change bids and budgets?

Public answer: Yes. AI Connect supports campaign edits, including bids, budgets and keywords. MAP does not apply them by default: Edit Mode must be enabled, each edit requires confirmation, and changes are recorded in a write log. Do not choose the Suite merely because you assume AI Connect is read-only.

Additional charges

Which costs sit outside the base subscription?

Public answer: Extra brands are billed separately. Hourly Amazon Marketing Stream data is an add-on for AI Connect; Suite plans include specified account allowances. Keepa supplies its own separately billed API subscription. Fully Managed costs $2,000 per month or 10% of ad spend, whichever is greater, and includes Dominion features. It is different from buying software recommendations.

Pros

  • It separates a data-layer offer from an optimization suite, which helps a team choose whether it needs analysis access or managed changes.
  • Its main job is to give a marketplace advertising team a structured way to inspect campaigns and decide what to change. It is not designed to replace every ecommerce tool.
  • Start with a small test and use decision quality, spend control, and campaign-change auditability to decide whether to expand.

Cons

  • Advertising changes affect spend. Keep recommendation review, account permissions, budgets, and rollback rules outside the AI interface and test them on a limited campaign set.
  • Marketplace Ad Pros lists AI Connect at $10/week or $39/month, with extra brands priced separately. It also distinguishes this data-layer plan from optimization offerings, so verify whether any service or execution cost is outside the listed plan.
  • A named owner, reliable data sources, and a human fallback are still needed. Installation is only the start.

Selection advice

AI Connect for operators who retain approval

AI Connect fits teams that already operate Amazon Ads and want to investigate account data through an AI client. Access starts read-only; optional edits require write permission and confirmation. This provides a defined approval step, but it still depends on someone being able to judge the proposed account change.

Optimization software and managed services

MAP’s Optimization Suite adds dashboards, notifications, experiments and recommendations; Fully Managed adds human operating services. Perpetua and Teikametrics are advertising-platform comparisons when ongoing optimization is the main task. Pacvue becomes relevant when the scope also includes cross-retailer commerce operations and data. Each offer needs a separate comparison of work performed, permissions and total charges.

Seller suites and other advertising channels

Helium 10 is a partial alternative when research and listing tools are needed alongside Amazon advertising. Google Performance Max and Meta Advantage+ instead operate in Google and Meta advertising channels. They can support a brand’s wider acquisition activity, but they do not replace MAP’s Amazon account connection or operate Amazon campaigns through that connection.

Check the complete operating cost

Teams should price required brands, Amazon Marketing Stream access, optional third-party data subscriptions, the AI client, and any Suite or managed-service purchase separately. An operator responsible for bids and budgets also needs to own approval of AI-proposed edits. Read-only analysis is the appropriate starting scope while that responsibility is unresolved.

Frequently asked questions

When is AI Connect enough, and when is the Optimization Suite useful?

AI Connect lets a team access Amazon Ads and Seller/Vendor Central data through supported AI clients or MAP chat. The Optimization Suite includes AI Connect and adds dashboards, notifications, guided experiments, and daily recommendations. The choice depends on whether the team will run its own analysis or wants those ongoing MAP workflows.

Can AI Connect change Amazon ad campaigns automatically?

AI Connect can make supported campaign edits after Edit Mode is enabled, but it does not apply changes by default. Each edit requires confirmation and is recorded in a write log.

Which costs are separate from the Marketplace Ad Pros base plan?

Extra brands have separate charges. Keepa API access requires a separate Keepa subscription. The Optimization Suite already includes AI Connect, so its subscription should not be counted twice.
